Back to school, warm colors on the racks and cooler breezes have us looking toward fall with excitement. It seems life revs up this time of year, doesn’t it? As a team and individually, we are striving to create intentional moments with the people around us and nourish what is “life-breathing” (as opposed to “life-taking”)  in our lives – from hydrating products to decor companies that foster a sense of home to TV shows that make us snort laugh. This month, we are thrilled to share obsessions that provide self-care and opportunities for others.

My Current Obsession

I am a bright lip girl. You can find me wearing the same red on Christmas Day as you do while I’m at the Nashville Hot Chicken Festival on the 4th of July. However, as fall approaches, the color hues of mustard, rich navy and maroon have me craving a less bold, more hydrating lip that refreshes my look for the new season. I love the Bare Minerals Matte Liquid Lipstick in Swag this time of year.  Following a summer of sun exposure and dehydration, my lips need some extra love. I am such of fan of this lipstick because it is not only long-lasting, but also has a cream-to-matte moisturizing element. You will love how it feels like chapstick but provides a color suitable for the office, date night or a mascara-only Target run (speaking from experience).

Heather’s Current Obsession

Earlier this year, I wrote about my focus for the year: 2018 is going to be the year I have a life-giving and nourishing home. As a part of that focus, I turned inward. In order to have a life-giving and nourishing home, I needed to nourish my own body and soul. I incorporated an exercise regimen into my weekly routine with my beloved Garage Barre. Every morning I make a Fab Four Smoothie. I started a Sunday night weekly planning routine with Matt. And, I’m drinking TONS and TONS of water. I’ve always heard that you should drink half of your body weight in ounces in water per day. Recently when watching “Very Cavallari” I saw Kristin carrying around a water bottle that I really liked. I hunted it down and found the Hydro Flask on Amazon. I purchased the 40-ounce wide mouth in white and I am 100% obsessed. I carry it EVERYWHERE – the office, the baseball field, Garage Barre, you name it. I’ve been consuming so much more water than I ever have – about 4-5 full bottles a day – which is about 160-200 ounces. One thing I love though, is I’m not having to refill my bottle all the time because it holds so much plus it’s keeping my water ice cold for hours and hours. And before you even ask, yes, I’m going to the bathroom more frequently. But, my skin has never been this dewy and plump. So, my $42 investment is paying dividends.

Kerry’s Current Obsession

Resting is not my strength. It’s not at all my jam. I gave up naps at nine months and I have never looked back. It is just not in me to be still or quiet. But All The Things can lead to overwhelm and exhaustion – both things I am trying to avoid. So, in order to relax just a bit, I started a daily yoga routine. Several friends recommended 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene. Admittedly, I’ve started and failed to complete this program a few times in the past. This time, I’ve truly committed to the practice and it’s beginning to feel like something I *need* to do each day, not something I am forcing myself to do. At first, it felt pretty indulgent and I had to keep reminding myself to stay present (instead of making a grocery list, thinking about the next day’s tasks or reminding myself to get an oil change). But two and a half weeks in, I am feeling calmer, more centered and more in the moment. I highly recommend it!

Devin Lee’s Current Obsession

My friend recently introduced me to Decor Steals and I’m obsessed! Decor Steals was built with a mission to offer customers the absolute best prices on the best farmhouse vintage items. Their prices are real deals with no gimmicks and no fake sales. Each day I receive an email with the list of available deals and it’s always exciting to look through and envision how I could use the pieces in my home. I recently ordered my Christmas stocking for $9.99 each! Beyond the amazing prices, I love that each product has reviews from real customers who own the deal of the day.

Sarah’s Current Obsession

Finding a good wallet is something I am always on the search for. I seek out a wallet that is not too heavy, has enough pockets, is the perfect size, fits in my favorite bags and looks beautiful- I can be very picky. However, I have found the wallet that fits all of my needs! The ‘Debre Wallet’ from ABLE is slim, simple and comes in the most stunning colors. It has six card slots and three slit pockets that are so roomy! These pockets can fit cash, receipts, a checkbook, passport or even small size journal. This wallet even has a slot big enough to fit my iPhone+. This wallet can hold it all and fits all of my essentials if I just want to take it solo. The best part about ABLE is that they are on a mission to end generational poverty, one job at a time. Each purchase makes an impact by allowing ABLE to give opportunity to women in a safe and healthy environment.

Summer’s Current Obsession

If you have ever watched “Parks and Recreation,” this show will definitely be of interest to you with hosts and executive producers Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman. “Making It” is a competition among America’s finest handymen and craftswomen where two different projects, ‘faster-craft’ and ‘master craft collection,’ are tackled each episode. From the words of encouragement to comic relief from Poehler and Offerman, the show really puts a great spin on a friendly competition that will leave you wanting to get up and go craft something yourself!  Now, I am not a huge crafter myself (as I never thought I had the creative touch to work on DIY projects), but “Making It” has inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and reach into my creative side. There is still time to catch up before the finale on September 4th, in which the winner will walk away with the title of “Master Maker” and a $100,000 grand prize!

We’re curious… What obsessions are you finding “life-breathing” this month? We hope you leave margin to pour into yourself and others as we head into the fall months.
