FRIDAY FAVORITES WITH HEATHER: SUMMER ACTIVITIES WITH THE BOYS + #DUDESANDDOLL CAMP
I have been loving tie dye lately, and I’m so happy that it’s back in style. You can find at-home tie dye kits just about anywhere, and it’s such a simple and fun way to spend time with your kids. Plus, you may just get a new favorite shirt out of it!
You simply can’t go wrong with s’mores. They are a favorite of mine, and the boys, so they get super excited every time I suggest this. We love using our fire pit to make them easily!
Whether you are an expert at camping, or just starting out – backyard camping is sure to be a blast! Dixon and Thackston really enjoy camping, and we love the idea of adding on games to make it feel like we’re actually in the woods. Nature scavenger hunts, flashlight tag, campfire stories, and stargazing are some of our favorites. Plus, it’s great practice for our upcoming RV family vacation!
If you’ve listened to the most recent episode of This Intentional Life, you know that we talked about the awesome #DudesAndDoll date that the boys and I had chasing waterfalls. It was such a fun activity, and it really gives you the opportunity to see some of the beautiful sights your state has to offer. It’s also a super inexpensive activity, and helps us to slow down and unplug from all the noise of the day.
With the heat that comes with the Summer months, this one feels like more of a necessity than anything. Our favorite flavor is classic vanilla, but sometimes we make orange sherbet, which is also super easy to do! We also love to buy a variety of different toppings like fruit, sprinkles, fudge, and chocolate chips to dress our ice cream up and make it personalized to each of us.
This is an activity we really enjoy doing as a family. There are so many wonderful spots around Nashville that you can drop in, and enjoy the day on the water. Our personal favorite is Caney Fork! Plus, if you don’t have a kayak, you can always rent one.
